Get some practice laps in before Saturday’s competition. We’ll have registration forms available so bring your checkbook to get signed up at the river!

Stinking Water Slalom, Boater Cross & Community Concert

8:30 AM – Competitor shuttle | City Park to Hayden Arch Bridge

9 AM to 3 PM – Great Dam Day | Hayden Arch Bridge Road

Bring the family and your camera for a lovely hike along the old dam road. Activities include a kids history hike (learn about the history of the Buffalo Bill Dam), conservation booths, food, fun, and music. Plus, celebrate the Visitor Center’s 25th Anniversary! 9 AM – Stinking Water Slalom Registration | Hayden Arch Bridge

Kayakers compete in a slalom course with great public viewing opportunities.

10:30 AM – Men’s Stinking Water Slalom | Hayden Arch Bridge

Class II whitewater competition through upstream and downstream hanging gates, two timed runs.

12 PM – Lunch Break | Hayden Arch Bridge

12:30 PM – Women’s/Youth Stinking Water Slalom | Hayden Arch Bridge

Class II whitewater competition through upstream and downstream hanging gates, two timed runs.

3 PM – Canyon Boater Cross | Hayden Arch Bridge to DeMaris

Boater-cross style race through the Class IV Shoshone Canyon

6 – 10 PM – Live Music, Camping & Beer Garden | Park County Complex

Stinking Water Sprint, Community BBQ & Awards

10 AM – Competitor shuttle | Belfry Bridge to DeMaris

11 AM – Stinking Water Sprint | DeMaris to Belfry Bridge

Class II downriver race with multiple categories, open to all ages and abilities but previous paddling experience on this stretch of the river is highly recommended.

12 PM – Free Community BBQ | Shoshone Riverway Trail Access

Enjoy a delicious BBQ on the banks of the Shoshone River provided by the Wild West Paddle Club

12:30 PM – Awards and Raffle Drawing*

Prizes awarded for all of the weekend’s paddling events, including the Conning Cup! Great raffle prizes, tickets available during Saturday evening’s activities at the Park County Complex or through a Wild West Paddle Club boater/coach. *Need not be present to win.

 

Events are free to the public, except whitewater racers must register in advance and pay registration fees.
