World Kayak Hometown Throwdown
World Kayak, an organization designed to encourage kayaking within local communities, will be sponsoring several events this season!
“What is a Hometown Throwdown?”
Well, a Hometown Throwdown is an event that allows local kayakers of all experience levels to get together and practice their skills, while building the paddling community, and having a blast! They can be anything from a flat-water freestyle competition to sponge dodgeball… the possibilities are endless. These events are typically held on Wednesday evenings from 6:00-7:00pm.
“What’s the cost?”
The best part about a Hometown Throwdown is there is absolutely NO cost! All you have to do is come prepared with your kayak and safety equipment, sign our liability waiver, and join in the fun.
“I heard there was prizes? How is that possible if there is no fee?”
There are a ton of prizes, and they are given out at random to any participant/volunteer. This is all made possible by the hardworking crew at World Kayak.
“I’m a beginner. Is it worth coming to compete against the best paddlers in town?”
First of all, being a beginner is what World Kayak is all about. Its primary objective is to bring new paddlers into the community. This is accomplished through hosting small local events, and having beginners become apart of the fun.
